COMMUNITY

Star Foundation Youth Mentoring Program offers a full-day summer camp program for 10 weeks, Monday to Friday, from June to August. Day Campers are at-risk youth who normally would not go to camp because of low family income or lack of transportation. 

 

The program provides opportunities for youth to discover and develop their individual talent. The

program also provides the youth with exposure to a diversity of cultures, through the World Wide Web, and helps them to understand today’s global world.

 

Morning sessions will focus on academics such as reading, creative writing, math, and science projects such as “Going Green”. The afternoon classes will focus on the creative side, with planned arts and crafts events, including jewelry making, along with classes in dance and theater. 

 

 

 

OUTREACH

The Star Foundation believes that all youth if given the proper guidance and encouragement will become the next 'Super Stars' of our community. We believe that all children posess outstanding talent, and should have an equal opportunity to showcase that talent. All children are welcome to participate no matter what their ethnic, financial, or personal circumstances. 

 Star Foundation has used the power of television and radio to obtain the attention of prospective mentors,

and community supporters.  Community Outreach Projects such as Talent Showcases will foster interest

in services provided to at-risk youth.

Star Foundation is interested in partnering with other community programs, which will provide access to local, state, federal, and corporate dollars needed to provide their mentoring program.
